Rive Droite (The Right Bank), Paris
Rive Droite or The Right Bank is the area of Paris on the right bank of the River Seine. As the river flows in a roughly westerly direction towards the sea, it cuts through the center of Paris, dividing the city into two halves.
The Rive Droite is the right bank according to the flow of the Seine. This is the side of Paris with sights such as the Place Vendrôme. It is therefore regarded as the more elegant and sophisticated, as opposed to the more bohemian Left Bank or Rive Gauche.
